Bluegrass Roots and Country Truths

Cameron Nickerson is hitting the road—and he’s bringing his songs, stories, and country roots with him.

On Saturday, November 21st, Cameron will bring his trio to the intimate Brooklyn Community Hall for “Bluegrass Roots and Country Truths,” two 45-minute sets of heartfelt original songs, familiar country favourites, quick-footed bluegrass, and stories drawn from his century old camp in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Cameron is a songwriter in the tradition of Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson, writing songs about the things that are real: life, work, love, addiction, family, and everything in between. Joining him on stage is his wife, Samantha Nickerson, adding backing vocals and mandolin to the mix.

A CCMA-nominated artist, with two East Coast Music Award nominations and four Music Nova Scotia nominations, you can expect songs that might make you stop and think, stories that might make you laugh, and a few good old-fashioned country tunes that'll have your toes tapping. Most of all, expect an evening of music that feels genuine, familiar, and a little bit like coming home.

Two 45-minute sets, an intimate trio performance featuring Cameron Nickerson on lead vocals and guitar, with Samantha Nickerson on backing vocals and mandolin and Jill Chambers on backing vocals and the upright bass.
